It is with regret and disappointment that Truckee Tribe Board of Directors has decided to cancel the 2020 spring lacrosse season. This was a decision not taken lightly. The board has reviewed action and guidance from the State of California, Nevada County, CDC, TTUSD and TDRPD and determined we could not safely manage this season.
The board has decided that all Tribe registration fees will be returned 100% to the membership. The Tribe will be issuing these credits the same way they were paid, either via credit card or check. The Tribe cannot at this time offer any information on US Lacrosse fees and how those will be handled or if US LAX will offer a credit for this season.
If HSLL does in fact offer recreational lacrosse (not Avalanche) later this spring or summer, The Tribe will put together teams of available players that wish to participate. These teams are open to anyone previously registered and will be funded 100% by The Tribe at no cost to the players or members. HSLL has not indicated one way or another, and The Tribe has no additional information if this is even an option from HSLL. The Tribe will keep you informed if/when decisions are made about the HSLL season.
The Tribe Board will continue to meet and discuss the potential for fun get togethers/BBQ’s, summer tournaments (LTSC has been moved to August) and fun activities as conditions warrant throughout the spring and summer. Additionally, information on Fall Ball will be updated throughout the summer. We will pass along this information to you as we discuss it. If anyone has ideas or thoughts on Tribe related activities later this summer, let us know. We’d love to hear them! As of now, our Oktoberfest fundraiser will still be happening, so plan on volunteering.
All Truckee Tribe Activities Suspended Effective Sat. March 14
The Truckee Tribe Youth Lacrosse Club is suspending all Tribe related activities effective immediately. These activities are anything Tribe related: practice, scrimmage, games and team meetings. This suspension also applies to our uniform and equipment handout night.
We are following directives sent out by HSLL, TTUSD and TDRPD in measures to help deter the spread of Covid 19. The safety and health of all our members is of the highest importance, and The Tribe Board does not make this decision easily. Information concerning the remainder of the season will be passed along as we receive it. Details will be reviewed from the CDC, WHO, Nevada County Dept of Health as well as the HSLL, TTUSD and TDRPD in how we move forward.
These are definetly trying times and The Trbe encourages everyone to stay as healthy as possible. We'd like to echo the sentiments of larger health organizations in trying to mitigate the spread of this disease and for everyone continue to wash your hands, avoid touching your face, eyes and mouth, stay home if you're sick, avoid contact with those that are sick and in general use good and proper hygiene.
We look forward to life getting back to normal soon. Stay healthy.

All HSLL Activities Suspended Effective Sat. March 14
The High Sierra Lacrosse League (HSLL) is suspending all lacrosse games, practices and meetings effective Saturday, March 14, 2020 until further notice. The HSLL is following the directive of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) to suspend all sanctioned high school sports. The NIAA decision is at this link.
During this suspension, HSLL high school and youth programs are not to compete in any games or to hold any practices or meetings.
The HSLL Board does not make this decision lightly. The health and safety of our players, families and our entire community in the Truckee Meadows guide our decision-making process. We will continue to monitor information daily from the Nevada Department of Health, Washoe County Department of Health, Washoe County School Department and the NIAA during this suspension of HSLL activities. Any updates will be communicated to our teams and families in a timely manner.
As we wrote in yesterday’s communication, we encourage all High Sierra Lacrosse League participants – including players, volunteers, families, and fans – to follow the best practices outlined by the CDC and WHO, linked here - Center for Disease Control and World Health Organization.
During this challenging and dynamic situation, we believe in the power of community and the support it can provide. As a society and as individuals, it is our responsibility to curb expansion of this virus. Be diligent and stay healthy.
We wanted to let you know that we have entered a partnership agreement with Lacrosse Fanatic. This allows our program to get team gear and equipment at reduced prices, which benefits our entire program. In addition to the team savings, Lacrosse Fanatic has also extended their Goal Line Extended Club for all of you. This allows you to set up a team account, providing you discounts on every item that you purchase in-store, online or at a tournament from them for an entire year.
Annual membership to this program normally costs $25. But, as part of our partnership Lacrosse Fanatic has waived this for the next three weeks. Besides the great discount on everything you buy, you also get access to exclusive content like product reviews, player/coaching tips and even stringing tutorials.
Please spend a few minutes and age verify though US Lacrosse (also renew your child membership. Must be valid thru 6/30/2019)
Why Age Verification
US Lacrosse is working with youth leagues throughout the country to ensure that players are grouped appropriately to keep players safe and to help make competition fair. And HSLL is mandating it this season. Teams with unverified players, will forefit games..
Secure and Easy To Use
The new US Lacrosse age verification system is secure and easy to use. Age verification uses SSL technology, the standard for transmitting sensitive information online.
Steps to Verify the Age of Your Child
Scan or take a photo of your son or daughter's birth certificate or state-issued ID.
Click the button below and log into your USLacrosse.org account, not your child's.
Upload your scan or photo to our online system.
US Lacrosse will review your documentation, record the birthdate in our system and then permanently delete your uploaded document.
You'll receive a confirmation email, and you’re done. This is a one-time process that is good for the lifetime of your child’s membership.
Head coaches and Tribe board officers will determine if play or practice is safe
Additionally, coaches will keep us posted on their assessment as practices approach. In all cases, we ultimately leave the decision of whether or not a child should participate to the discretion of the parent. Air quality can vary within Truckee, conditions are subject to change, and each player's circumstances are unique.
